  • Meridian Optimist Christmas Tree Sale

    Event Date: 11/30/2024

    Our sale will begin on November 30th at 11am.

    Our Christmas Tree Lot is in the Meridian Speedway parking lot at 335 S Main St.

    This is the major fundraiser for the Meridian Optimist Club each year and it supports the many projects we do throughout the year. Such as our essay and oratorical scholarship programs, annual Easter egg hunt, food baskets for those in need, the Meridian Optimist Junior Air Rifle Club, The Meridian Food Bank and much more.

  • Optimist International Oratorical Contest

    Event Date: 12/1/2024

    Topic for the 2024-2025 School year is “How Optimism Has Guided Me Through Trying Times"

    The Optimist Oratorical Contest gives youngsters the chance to speak to the world. More than $150,000 in college scholarships are awarded annually from this program.

    Deadline for entries is March 3, 2025.

The Optimist Club of Meridian

Meeting the needs of young people in communities worldwide, optimist clubs have been "Bringing out the Best in Kids" since 1919. Optimist clubs conduct positive service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. Optimist International is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations with more than 119,000 members in over 3,800 clubs.
